How many methods to judge dangerous goods on the X-ray baggage scanner

There are below 8 inspection methods using on X-ray baggage scanner to identify and judge different dangerous goods.

1. Image monitoring method

The image monitoring method judges the object directly from the structural shape of the X-ray fluoroscopy image. Therefore, whether the object to be inspected is suspicious depends on the image on the monitor or display. When the uncommon objects or abnormal shapes appearing on the monitor or display, all objects should be regarded as suspicious objects. Those that cannot be accurately identified should also be regarded as suspicious objects, which need to further investigated and analyzed carefully.

2. Color analysis method

The color analysis method is based on the different material data to appear in the X-ray image of the different colors, and then to identify the material type. The various colors appearing on the monitor are the reflection of the density, quality and quantity of the object. So the objects can be evaluated according to the depth of the image color.

Light yellow, normally is the color displayed by a single piece of clothing, thin plastic and a small amount of paper.

Orange, normally is the color displayed by soap, explosives, drugs, wood, leather, etc.

Dark orange, generally a large number of books, paper, currency, high-concentration liquid, large bags of rice noodles, etc.

Blue, is the color displayed by inorganic substances such as copper, iron, and zinc, thick cable, electric shockers, bullets, gun cartridges, guns and knives, etc. which will show different shades of blue. Green is the color of mixtures, stainless steel products, cables, etc. Which will show different shades of green.

Black color is the appearance of impenetrable objects. Mostly are the heavy metals and thick objects.

3. Restoration judgment method

The items in the baggage, due to different viewpoints, appear different shapes under the X-ray image, and even deformed, this will change their original appearance. It can be reversed or changed in the X-ray scanner channel to get a different point of view approach to help identify the shape again.

4. Analytic hierarchy process method

Investigate the images of overlapping objects, combining the overlapping range from the non-overlapping edges of the objects, and then analyzing the different levels of colors and shapes to determine the original shape of the object.

5. Feature discrimination method

Any object has its specific external shape. Security personnel should keep in mind the shape and characteristics of various objects on the monitor, and then determine what kind of object it is. For example, although the facial cleanser and the hair spray appear to be the same color, the hair spray tank has a push button, which is convenient for judging the difference.

6. Structure judgment method

General objects have their specific structure. After X-ray fluoroscopy, it can be found that something that shouldn’t exist in the structure of the object is present, or something that should exist but missing, such as no battery, no magnetic rod, or no horn in the radio. This should cause a high level of alertness.

7. Proportional judgment method

The image on the screen has a certain proportional relationship with the real object. If the object is placed on the side of the channel close to the x-ray source, the image will be larger, and placed on the side far from the x-ray source, the image will be smaller. Security inspectors should constantly explore the rules of the ratio of images and objects on each different model X ray scanner machine in order to make accurate judgments.

8. Comprehensive analysis method

Security personnel should pay attention to the brightness adjustment on the monitor. The brightness is not suitable, which will affect the viewing effect. If a suspicious object is found, the brightness should be adjusted appropriately according to its shape and thickness to achieve a better judgment effect. Our security inspection machine has the functions of brightening, darkening, flipping and gray-scale scanning in image judgment, which can provide great convenience for identifying objects. To fully grasp these methods, the security inspector must have a sufficient understanding of the performance of the security inspection machine.
